Aluminothermic Welding

Railtech Australia's prime business is supply of quality welding materials.

Railtech supply all welding equipment tested and approved in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1085.15-1995.

General Principal
Molten steel produced through the reaction of iron oxide and aluminium is cast at a temperature exceeding 2000 degrees C in refractory moulds designed to suit the rails to be welded.
Extensive experience in high quality techniques allows the welder to complete a weld in less than 15 minutes.
A strongly innovative strategy, based on modern Research and Development facilities, continuously improves the product properties and leads to several patents such as the CJ - One Shot Crucible and Filtered CJ One Shot Crucible.

We offer a full range of rail welding kits to suit all Australian rail section including Junction Welding and Wide Gap welding.Furthermore, the welding process PLK is available with Standard Crucible or CJ - One Shot Crucible and now with a Filtered CJ - One Shot Crucible.

During the year 2004 we phased in the Wide Gap Weld with CJ - One Shot Crucible as an option thus enabling a welding gang to carry only the hardware for welding with CJ Crucibles.

The approval process for the WG68 CJ One Shot Filter Crucible is now complete.

Weld Kits for NZ91lb and 50kg, UIC 54 and 60, AS 41, 47, 50, 53, 60 and 68kg/m are available (subject to sales)

The Wide Gap Welding Process - WG68CJ - for use with the CJ One-Shot and EcoFilter Crucibles are now approved and stock of all sizes is available. The response to this product has been very good and we may have some short delays on delivery. We are working toward carrying sufficient stock to avoid delay.

Railtech Australia Limited carries a range of Crane Rail Welding kits now available using the CJ One Shot Crucible. We carry stock of some kits.
